Nuance by Salma Hayek For Soft Summer Skin

NUANCE

I recently returned to Nuance, Salma Hayek’s skincare brand, after about a year of trying products from a range of different brands. I was once again thoroughly impressed by the high quality of Nuance’s offerings. Nuance is free of parabens, hypoallergenic, and not tested on animals. Plus it’s cheap – Nuance is exclusive to CVS drugstores, which frequently offers BOGO 1/2 off deals on all Nuance products. In the past, I’ve used and loved their Prickly Pear Body Wash, their Rosehip Moisturizing Body Lotion, and, especially, Nuance’s Cucumber & Rosewater Dual Phase Makeup Remover – seriously, nothing is gentler and more effective for removing eye makeup, even waterproof eyeliner. I recently picked up the Rosehip Body Lotion and the Walnut Body Scrub, and I was so happy with my purchase that I wanted to share my thoughts on these products with you.

The Rosehip Body Lotion is perfect for summer, as it’s a light gel lotion that absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel heavy at all. It requires minimal effort to rub in, a plus when you’re in a hurry. It has a light, floral scent that fades quickly and won’t interfere with any fragrance you wear. It probably isn’t rich enough to sooth dry hands, however.

The Walnut Body Scrub is possible the best body scrub I’ve ever used. The crushed walnut shells that serve as an exfoliant are very fine, so it’s very difficult to overdo it. I would say it’s suitable for more delicate areas of the body, like the chest and stomach. On the other hand, if you’re looking to exfoliate the rough skin on your feet or elbows, this scrub probably won’t be strong enough. When I use the scrub before shaving, I get a very close, smooth shave. The scrub also has a pleasant fragrance, light and rich at the same time, slightly sweet and not overpowering in the least.

As an added bonus, the packaging is really cute, and gives the line a high-end appeal at drugstore prices. The floral decorations rather remind me of Rouge Bunny Rouge‘s packaging.

I highly recommend both of these products and would suggest that you try any product from the Nuance line that might interest you, especially the body products.
