I have a few qualms about some Tatcha products, particularly the way they are marketed. The Indigo hand cream, for example, is touted as a natural product using ancient skincare ingredients, but the third ingredient is petrolatum, a petroleum derivative that is regarded as safe but increases the potential for sun damage. Indigo extract is way down at the bottom of a long list of ingredients.
There are some Tatcha products, however, that I think are stellar. Their Camellia Lip Balm is expensive, but smells lovely, hydrates lips, and is free of preservatives (plus it feels like a luxurious indulgence). Their One-Step Camellia Cleansing Oil is also excellent at removing dirt and makeup, plus it’s a great excuse to give yourself a face massage. I also enjoy their Exfoliating Rice Enzyme Powders, but if you are sensitive to talc, you should avoid these.
